PROVIDERS

Child Care Connect Resource and Referral provides an entry point into the career field of early education. If you are a child care provider, or are thinking about becoming a child care provider, we can be of assistance to you. Any individual working in regulated or exempt child care centers, licensed family day care homes, unregulated family child care homes or relative caregivers can benefit from our services.

We provide technical assistance and provide low-cost training in topics as diverse as: Safe and healthy environments, Child Growth and Development, Curriculums, Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect, Social and Emotional Development, Early Brain Development, etc.

Providers have a tremendous influence on all aspects of the healthy growth and development of young children of Southwest Virginia. The need for cinsistent and continuity of care is extremely crucial at these formative years. Nurturing and caring providers can form relationships with the children in the care to hlep ease the transition from home to school.

Providers must have the knowledge base and experience in child development and age appropriate learning opportunities. They must also be resonsive to children's needs and understand the significance of early brain development. They must make a commitment to professionalism by continually learning about the field in early education.
